Spiritual Direction
What is Spiritual Direction?
It is a way of living your spiritual journey with intention.
In some ways, it is easier to say what Spiritual Direction is not than what it is.
It is NOT therapy, religion, or counseling.
Spiritual Direction is a unique experience for each individual as the sessions are guided entirely by what the spiritual seeker (you) bring to the session. For some people, religion is a part of spirituality and may include conversations about one’s beliefs. For other people, spirituality is a way of living in relationship with the cosmos and/or humanity and may focus on questions about where one fits in this system. For others, still, direction may simply be a time of exploration and curiosity about big questions in life. At the heart of the experience for each spiritual seeker, however, is a yearning for more. It is a restlessness to explore, to grow in understanding with what they define as the Sacred, and enter into a deeper relationship with this life-giving energy. This is a process of inner work in which the guide is a companion on another’s journey. They reflect, guide, bear witness, support, encourage, and celebrate the inner-work of the spiritual seeker.
